SUMMER MOON SCRIVER
PHOTOGRAPHY
Summer Moon Scriver grew up on Lopez Island, having lived here now for over 39 years. She feels nourished by its natural beauty and strong community.
Summer Moon Scriver has been a professional portraiture, landscape, and wedding photographer for over twenty-five years. She has, over the years become more and more involved in photographing the many Island weddings, Summer enjoys the challenge and the satisfaction in capturing this exceptionally important day, preserving the memories and special moments for generations.
A self-taught artist, her work has been shown in galleries across the Northwest. She has been published in several magazines, two books, has won several photography contests, and has had her work shown in galleries.
Summer has most recently finished collaborating on her second photo book, “BOUNTY”, which celebrates organic food grown in our small island community, with stunning photography of 27 local farms, and photographs to accompany delectable recipes. Summer believes by nourishing our families and friends with fresh, organic, home grown food, we not only feed our bellies, but also our souls.
Her first book, “Hands at Work”, is an award-winning coffee table book of profiles and close-up black-and-white portraits of working hands. Celebrating the richly artistic community of which she has been so fortunate to grow up in.
In addition to freelance photography, Summer gardens and raises two sons with her partner, Jaime Cordova here on Lopez Island.
